At a glance, Saigon Technology designed and built Lumina, a general-purpose, mobile-responsive learning management system (LMS) delivered as a focused MVP. The platform lets learners take structured online courses, video lessons, and assessments from any device, while giving content teams the tools to create and manage courses without engineering help, a clean, functional foundation built to validate content and demand before scaling.

Platform: Mobile-responsive web application (React single-page app)

What The Client Required

Registration & profile - email / password sign-up and login, with a personal profile capturing the learner's name, role, and career objective, plus a view of every enrolled course and overall progress.
Course discovery - browse and search courses across multiple topics and industries, with filtering by subject, category, and level (Beginner / Intermediate). Each course detail page lays out the description, learning objectives, full outline, duration, and level.
Learning player - a focused video player (designed for streaming via Vimeo or AWS S3) with downloadable PDF / slide resources attached to each lesson, one-click "mark complete," a live % course-completion indicator, and resume-from-last-position.
User management - search and browse registered learners, lock / unlock accounts, and view each learner's progress and quiz scores per course.
Course management - create, edit, and delete courses; configure title, description, category, level, and thumbnail; upload video lessons and attach PDF resources.
Lesson & quiz management - full CRUD for lessons within a course, plus a quiz builder to create multiple-choice questions, set correct answers, and configure the pass score.
Analytics overview - total registered users, enrollment counts per course, course completion rates, and an at-a-glance activity feed.

Solutions

We designed and built Lumina, an LMS that brings the full learning journey, discover, learn, assess, and certify, into one cohesive, well-designed web experience. It's built around two connected roles:
The learner experience - browse courses, learn through video, track progress, and earn certificates.
The admin / content-manager dashboard - create and manage courses, lessons, and quizzes, manage users, and track outcomes.
The MVP is intentionally focused: everything needed to run real courses and measure engagement, and nothing that would slow validation down

The Outcome

Lumina demonstrates, end to end, what a focused, scalable LMS looks like and how it behaves, a working, interactive product that stakeholders can click through rather than imagine. What the build delivers:

1. A complete learner journey, from discovering a course to earning a certificate, in one polished, responsive experience.

2. A self-service admin experience that lets content teams publish courses and assessments without developers.

3. Measurable learning outcomes through quizzes, progress tracking, and completion rates.

4. A brandable, industry-agnostic design system and a scalable architecture ready for future phases.

Our Approach

MVP-first, design-led

We built Lumina as a fully interactive prototype so every screen, flow, and interaction could be experienced and validated, proving the product before heavier investment.

A cohesive, brandable design system

A consistent visual language, typographic scale, and component library run across both the learner and admin experiences. The system is themeable out of the box, multiple brand accent colors and font choices, so the platform adapts to a client's brand and to any subject vertical.

Modern front-end engineering

Lumina is a mobile-responsive React single-page application with client-side routing, role-based views, persistent learner progress, and attention to accessibility, built on a scalable foundation ready for growth.

Looking Ahead (future phases)

Lumina's architecture is built to grow well beyond the MVP. Planned post-MVP enhancements include native iOS & Android apps, Google / Apple SSO, subscription pricing, instructor-led live sessions, multi-language support, and AI-assisted learning.

As part of this forward-looking work, we also prototyped "Aurora", a concept for an embedded AI study assistant that could offer context-aware tutoring, instant lesson summaries, auto-generated flashcards, on-demand practice quizzes, and personalized study plans. Aurora is a next-phase concept demonstrated ahead of the roadmap, not part of the delivered MVP scope, a preview of how Lumina could make online learning feel genuinely personal as the product matures.
