At a glance: Saigon Technology designed and built FINCH, a financial-wellness and planning SaaS platform delivered through employers (B2B2C) as a focused MVP. It helps employees understand their financial situation, build financial literacy, get unbiased, AI-powered guidance, and plan how to save and grow wealth over time, all from any device.

By embedding financial planning at the workplace, FINCH uses the existing trust between employer and employee to make financial wellbeing genuinely accessible: a clean, functional foundation built to validate engagement before scaling toward automation and long-term financial infrastructure.

What The Client Required

  • Financial Health Assessment & Score: employees input key financial data points and receive an automatically calculated Financial Health Score, broken down into weighted components, with actionable insights and recommendations plus goal setting and progress tracking.
  • AI Financial Coach: personalised, context-aware guidance based on the user's own data, available on demand. Bias-free by design, it coaches toward the user's goals and never sells a product.
  • Education Hub: structured learning paths covering personal-finance basics, CPF and retirement planning, and saving & investing fundamentals, delivered through short articles, videos, interactive explainers, and quizzes, with a Financial Literacy Score that tracks progress.
  • AI Planning Assistant: "what-if" financial scenario simulation that projects future wealth paths, lets users adjust assumptions (savings rate, returns, life events), and visualises long-term outcomes.
  • Employer onboarding & access management: invite and manage employee access from a single admin view.
  • Anonymized wellness metrics: aggregate-level visibility into financial wellbeing across the workforce, with no exposure of individual employee data.
  • Configuration & governance: platform configuration and access control, advisor and content management, plus audit logs and data-security controls.

FINCH is built with a deliberately phased approach: the MVP starts with financial awareness and planning, then expands toward an advisor marketplace, automated saving, and broader financial infrastructure. The first release is intentionally focused, everything needed to prove engagement and outcomes, and nothing that would slow validation down.

FINCH demonstrates, end to end, what an employer-delivered financial-wellness product looks like and how it behaves: a working, interactive experience that stakeholders can click through rather than imagine.

What the build delivers: A complete employee journey: from measuring financial health to learning, coaching, and planning the future, in one polished, responsive experience. Measurable outcomes through the Financial Health Score and Financial Literacy Score, with goal tracking that makes progress visible. Genuinely unbiased, on-demand AI guidance that builds confidence without selling anything. An employer-grade admin layer with anonymized aggregate metrics and a brandable, scalable foundation ready for future phases.

 

Our Approach

We built FINCH as a fully interactive prototype so every screen, flow, and interaction could be experienced and validated, proving the product before heavier investment.

A cohesive, brandable design system. A consistent visual language and component library carry the FINCH identity (its teal brand and "financial wellness, at work" positioning) across both the employee and employer experiences.

Guidance is generated from the user's own financial data and aligned to their goals, explicitly unbiased, in deliberate contrast to commission-driven advice, which is the core of FINCH's value.

The foundation is built to grow safely from awareness and planning into automation and long-term financial infrastructure, with secure data handling and role-based access from day one.

Looking ahead (future phases)

FINCH's architecture is built to grow well beyond the awareness-and-planning MVP. The roadmap moves toward automation, a verified advisor network, and long-term financial infrastructure, including regional expansion.

As part of this forward-looking work, two capabilities are planned ahead of the delivered MVP scope: 

Phase 1B

Financial Advisor Marketplace:

A directory of verified financial advisors with standardised profiles (experience, credentials, licences, fee structures), compliance checks, peer ratings and reviews from employees, secure sharing of an employee's financial profile with a chosen advisor, and in-platform booking. It extends FINCH's unbiased ethos to human advice, with transparency built in.

Phase 3

Saving, Spending & Automation:

Smart financial "pockets" linked to salary and goals; automated transfers for savings, CPF & SRS top-ups, insurance, and investment partners; expense tracking via a virtual card and Open Finance APIs; and AI-driven spending insights, turning FINCH from a planning tool into everyday financial infrastructure.
