Challenges

The client operates regulated, financial-safety-critical systems, including primary issuance (private placements and fundraising) and secondary-market trading as a licensed broker-dealer and ATS, and is now building a unified multi-asset platform spanning crypto, equities, event contracts, fixed income, and real-world assets (RWA). Delivering on that roadmap meant:

  • Compressing delivery timelines: Shipping features faster across a complex, multi-service platform without compromising correctness or safety.
  • Expanding the partner surface: Building and documenting partner-facing REST APIs against agreed contracts.
  • Sustaining production reliability: Diagnosing and resolving issues on live financial systems with appropriate urgency and financial-safety discipline.

Engineers use AI coding assistants the same way they use a linter or IDE, to accelerate implementation, generate tests, reduce boilerplate, write documentation, and speed up code review. Velocity comes from tooling that is consistently applied, not occasionally tried.

Work on live, regulated systems is carried out with the urgency and care that money movement demands, including appropriate review, safe migrations, and careful production support.

Services communicate over Google Cloud Pub/Sub, with distributed tracing and structured logging providing visibility across the platform.

Secrets and signing keys are managed in HashiCorp Vault, with RS256 JWT authentication across services.

Looking ahead (future phases)

The client is building toward a unified multi-asset platform that spans crypto, equities, event contracts, fixed income, and real-world assets (RWA) on a single foundation, consolidating primary issuance and secondary trading into one experience. The AI-accelerated delivery model is built to keep pace with that expanding scope.
